How Has New World Developed Recently?

There have been many changes in the months since New World's release, and Amazon has made many changes to the game. This has resulted in mixed reviews on Steam, with thousands of players returning to the game every month, and various forums discussing declining player numbers.

There was some optimism, though, that the February update might fix the issues and get users back into the game. Considering the actual new features fail to do so, it seems unlikely that the update will focus on Poland, balance and bug fixes will have more luck, but at least this is a bailout for the update existing players seem to be looking forward to, regardless of the eventual Do the fate of the MMO.

For all those worried about its future, there are numerous posts on the official and Steam forums as well as on reddit, where people just keep playing the game and upload video clips of 100+ PvP battles in the open world. It's probably quieter now - although server consolidation means this is less noticeable in the game, there are still thousands of players playing.

Speaking of server consolidation, this is necessary when the number of servers is too low. But when you're merging two dynamic worlds with factions vying for turf, it's hard to please everyone.

Still, there are calls for more server merger. Amazon has yet to announce plans for a new merger, but some servers are lucky enough to attract 100 players at once, something that doesn't work in MMO games. As an alternative, Amazon has been giving players the opportunity to move to a different server. This is what people desperately need at launch, but it's only a short-term solution and will actually put struggling servers in a worse position.
