NBA 2K23 Does Not Look Like A 2K Game

This time last year I said that I bought PS5 actually to be able to play the next-gen version of 2K, and today it seems that this decision is correct, because the latest NBA 2K23 for PC is still not the next-gen version.

NBA 2K23 Does Not Look Like A 2K Game

For PC players, it's a shame, because the next-gen version of NBA 2K23 is a very different game from the previous one.

NBA 2K11 was released 11 years ago and is still considered one of the best NBA2K games, using Jordan as the cover and Jordan's classic challenge mode. Now, this challenge mode is back again in the NBA 2K series of games, with some new challenge content added. To win these challenges we need more NBA2K23 MT to build and strengthen a player.

On the surface, NBA 2K23 looks like another typical 2K annual entry, everything is so familiar. However, after trying it for a few days I found a problem, NBA 2K23 seems to have lost the tradition of the series and no longer looks like an NBA 2K game.

But after a few days of playing NBA 2K23, I did everything right, did not drop the handle, and hardly ever cursed, which in itself is quite worth spitting out.

In previous years, at this time, I would have a stomach full of bitterness to pour, but now I do not have any special feeling, as if I played a normal game.

In NBA 2K23, James can use his physical advantage to squeeze through his opponent for a breakaway instead of being blocked by a burly body like Curry's. The AI reacts after you make a defense move, rather than anticipating your intentions when you type in a button. The game is even starting to obey Newton's first law of motion.

When 2K's game physics system starts to favor classical mechanics over quantum mechanics, you know there's something wrong. If you blocked the logo, you'd think it was some other manufacturer's game, but of course, you'd know that was just an illusion.

This generation has improved the breakout success rate, breakouts are easier, finishing success is higher, and the advantages of height and size are shown.

On the other hand, the game has limited long-range shooting, specifically raising the threshold for shooting.

In the previous 2K series of games, a player's shooting attribute value was very important. Although there is a shooting timing system in NBA 2K games, players with a shooting ability of 90 have a more forgiving shooting timing. For these players, there is a high probability of making a shot even if it is not a perfect shot, while players with a shooting ability of 60 can only hit on a perfect shot and their perfect shot range will be very narrow.

In 2K23, the impact of shooting attributes seems to be less pronounced, as all players must hit their shots on perfect, or almost perfect, shots and everyone has a very narrow range of perfect shots. What was judged to be a slightly late or early shot in previous years may be too late or too early in 2K23, so much so that many people mistakenly thought that only perfect shots would score in the earliest playthroughs.

And it's not just limited to 3-point shots, the vast majority of shots are, and the perfect range for mid-range shots isn't any wider than 3-point shots.

This means that this generation is more demanding on the player, if the player's touch is not good, even using Curry, will continuously miss open threes, or even mid-range shots can not enter, and a player who can not shoot three points almost. At this point, you will feel that the basket has a grudge against you, and will become more and more unconfident about their shooting, the more you shoot the more you do not have, and gradually be controlled by emotions.

On the contrary, when the player has a good hand, he will feel as if he is possessed by the Grim Reaper and can hit dry threes in front of the defender.

I've experienced both of these states myself, and it's frustrating to think that a player you've been using so well might not be able to make a shot in the clutch. But I can't spray the game's AI like I used to because I control every shot.

For the first time in a long time, I've been able to experience the thrill of being hot and dominating the game in 2K23, because I control every shot. Like many soul-based games, it gives you frustration, but the joy of success is exponentially greater because you don't just beat the enemy, you surpass yourself as well.

2K11 created a new level of basketball games in that year, and also set the basic framework for the 2K series for more than 10 years after that. NBA 2K23 could not reach such heights, it did not have any remarkable innovation and breakthroughs, its progress is to change some of the problems that players have criticized for years, and can not pick any particular fault, which is already rare progress for today's 2K series.
